Stavros Constantinou

Stavros Constantinou is a London based goldsmith who creates jewellery and sculptures from a wide range of materials.

I designed and built his website using Shopify to showcase his work and sell his creations, launching early in 2022.

Homepage and layout

The website was designed with a clean layout placing the focus on the jewellery on sale.

The homepage begins with a striking, colourful image slider and continues with a featured product carousel to show off the different offerings. The navigation is stripped down to the essentials to streamline the user experience.

Shop the collection

It was important to make the shopping experience as simple and intuitive as possible. Powered with Shopify, you can use filters to easily browse the different products, and the checkout process is immediately familiar for online shopping. I customised the product pages to include an option to request a viewing of any item before purchasing.

1. CASE STUDY

Nick wanted to get the perfect ring for Aimee, with a plan to surprise her with the proposal on their trip to Iceland. This is how I made this dream a reality.

2. INSPIRATION

Inspiration from Aimee's current jewellery collection and magazines that Nick had secretly sourced without her knowing. I felt her style was quite ornate, delicate but with a contemporary edge.

3. SKETCHBOOK

I sat down with a sketchbook for initial designs. The main thing we had to decide was whether the main stone was to be pear or oval shaped. We felt having graduating sized diamonds down the sides would create more flow to the shape.

4. GEMS

I selected a range of diamonds with varying quality that would suit this clients' budget and desires. After giving him a mini education in diamond qualities, we ended up with one that spoke to Nick, he instantly fell in love with it.

5. CAD

I created some CAD images of the proposed design to help Nick visualise the ring. We made a couple of changes to the setting style as we felt it would suit her personality better.

6. SETTING

I began to construct the ring, getting the settings ready for the diamonds to be secured in place. Cutting the metal away under the stones allows more light to reflect from underneath.

7. FINAL RING

The finished article, Nick proposed on their trip to Iceland, and Aimee was over the moon.

Case study

I included a case study on the bespoke engagement rings pages to give an overview of the process involved in the creation of custom made jewellery.

Mobile experience

The entire site is responsive and optimised for mobile phones, ensuring a fluid and effortless shopping experience regardless what device is used.
